247 Laser Master sailors (138 Laser Standard and 109 Laser Radial) enjoyed of a new Laser class fest in Kingston, Canada, for the Laser Master Worlds 2015.
2015 Laser Master World Championships, the final day
The day began with light winds and a short postponement ashore. The wind filled in from the South West with 8-10 knots of breeze and laserists headed to the race course to complete their final races of the regatta.
Laser Master Worlds 2015 – Laser Standard final results
Adonis Bougiouris GRE won the Laser Standard Apprentice title at the 2015 Laser Master Worlds. He did not need to sail any races today, as his finishes yesterday allowed him to remain in 1st without racing the last two races. He was followed by New Zealand’s Matt Blakey NZL in 2nd and Great Britain’s Paul Scullion GBR in 3rd.
Brett Beyers AUS was the Laser Standard Master Division winner. Peter Hurley USA, finished 2nd and Ari Barshi DOM finished 3rd.
In the Laser Standard Grand Masters Division, Peter Shope USA is the Champion. Canadian Andrew Roy CAN finished in 2nd and Mark Bear USA in 3rd.
Mark Bethwaite AUS won the Laser Standard Great Grand Master Division. South African Alan Keen RSA came in a very close second, tying in points with Bethwaite. They were followed by Robert Blakey NZL in 3rd.
Laser Master Worlds 2015 – Laser Radial final results
Scott Leith NZL is the Radial Apprentice Champion. He was followed by Zac Skulander AUS in 2nd and Steven Smith GBR in 3rd. Erika Vines CAN is the female Radial Apprentice Champion.
Keith Davids USA is the winner of the Radial Masters division, followed by Ian Jones GBR in 2nd and Joao Ramos BRA in 3rd. Kimberly Couranz USA is the winner of the female Master Division.
In the Radial Grand Master Division, Al Clark CAN wins the title at the 2015 Laser Master World Championships. He was followed by Terry Scutcher GBR in 2nd and Robert Britten CAN in 3rd. The winner of the Grand Master female division is Paule Samson CAN.
Robert Lowndes AUS won the Radial Great Grand Master Division. Bill Smyes USA finished in 2nd place and Keith Wilkins GBR in 3rd. Hilary Thomas GBR is the female Great Grand Master champion.
In the 75 and over division, Peter Seidenberg USA wins his 11th World Championship. Johan Van Rossem CAN finished in 2nd and Michael Shields NZL in 3rd. Deirdre Webster CAN was the female champion in this division.
Next Laser Masters’ World Championships 2016 will be played in Vallarta, Mexico, but this time Standard and Radial fleets won’t be raced together. April 22-30 for Radial laserists, May 20-28 for the Laser Standard.
