After 12 races in all conditions of wind and waves was finally Swedish Jesper Stalheim SWE who won today the European Laser Senior Championship 2016 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

Variable weather conditions made tournament very exciting for sailors to compete. There was a different leader every day after races so competition resulted really challenging.
Korean Jeemin Ha KOR was finally second, 13 points behind Stalheim and winning Silver medal in the open championship. European podium included Norwegian Kristian Ruth NOR and Italian Giovanni Coccoluto ITA in second place and third place respectively (3rd and 4th overall).
The last day of the championship has offered sailors amazing conditions, with 8-12 knots and a typical long wave from the Atlantic.
The event was organized by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, the European Laser Class Association (Eurilca) and the Royal Spanish Sailing Association in Gran Canaria.
